Weekend Update

Had a great weekend one-two punch at the cabin/Duluth (and also the North Shore-1-2-3 punch?). Booksigning at Northern Lights-at which no books were signed for customers! But, I kinda expected that on a gorgeous Duluth day, and I signed about a dozen copies for the booksellers’ stock. Very cool store. Do check them out if you’re up that way. We then hung around Duluth, which reminded me a lot of Erie, except with less pollution, industrial wasteland, etc.

Then, up the North Shore and Gooseberry Falls, which were spectacular, and then the agate beaches of Superior. Another tip if anyone goes to the North Shore: the New Scenic Cafe. Pie to die for, for real. I know there’s a lot of pie action on the North Shore, but I couldn’t imagine anyone topping theirs. And they had a great buffalo pastrami sandwich too. We got back late on Saturday night, and I spent Sunday revising, revising, revising the novel. Oh, and playing Marathon on my laptop. But only as a reward!

I love fall, and I can already feel it coming.
