flotsam

Very busy lately…feeling like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs…just a few random notes for the bloggingsphere:

Kristin’s b-day is today, w00t!

Great appreciations of Jeff Ford at the Litblog Co-Op

Zoilus is one of my favorite new blogs. I keep trying to fit in the contents of this excellent post (obstenibly about Pitchfork, but also ranging on diverse subjects on indie rock) to the burgeoning small press/zine scene in speculative fiction. It’s apples and oranges to some extent…but there are some interesting parallels, which I’ll try to blog about in the future.

Kind of oldish news…slipped my mind to really blog about…but I finished a few weeks ago the first draft (actually up to draft 1.5 now) of the novel I’ve been working on, which is now titled Total Oblivion, More or Less. It’s obviously subject to change but that title feels more right to me than some others that’d been floating through my head. Anyway, it’s 63,000 words, and I feel better about this draft at such an early stage than I have with any other novel I’ve worked on or tried to work on. Hey, 4th time’s the charm! (In October, I posted some excerpts from the novel here).

Okay, back in the maelstrom!
